Why does my HP printer keep saying cartridge problem?



You might have experienced situations where your HP printer wouldn't work. We will discuss common strategies to make printing easier and fix any HP ink cartridge problems.


Non-Original Ink error


A "Non-Original Ink" error message might appear after installing the cartridge. You can quickly get rid of the message by pressing "Proceed," "Continue," "OK," or "OK." Then, resume printing.

These errors could be caused by a communication problem between the printer's chip and the cartridge's chip. There is an easy fix.

After your printer has had some "rest," connect the power cord to the wall outlet. Turn on the printer to complete the reset.

Use a clean, dry cloth to remove any lint from the cartridges. Then rinse it with distilled water. To remove dirt and residue, gently wipe the contacts of the cartridge. Allow the contacts to dry for 10 minutes, and then you can replace the cartridge. Make sure the cartridge clicks into the slot. Keep printing and turn on the printer.

Low ink is one of the most common errors you notice when printing. This may sound strange, especially if you have just changed your cartridge, and let's look at how we can fix it.

Reinstall the cartridge to fix an HP printer cartridge issue. To clear the message and restart printing, ensure all cartridges have been installed correctly.


Fix HP incompatible print cartridge error


You may receive the message "Incompatible Cartridge," indicating that the cartridge was not placed in the correct slot.

If you receive this error, ensure that the cartridge model numbers correspond to your printer model and country/region. After this, verify that they have been installed in the correct slots.


HP defective ink cartridge


The error "Cartridge problem" may occur. The accumulated dirt over the exploitation period may cause "Depleted Ink Cartridge" or "Remove and Reinstall."


You can override the HP ink cartridge error by removing and reinstalling the cartridge 2-3 times until the cartridge is securely seated in the slot. Turn off the printer, then remove all cartridges.


Use a dry, lint-free cloth to gently wipe off any residue or dirt from the cartridge's contacts. Make sure the cartridge is securely inserted into its designated slot. The printer is now ready for action!

Errors with missing or damaged cartridges


Another common error in HP printers is the "Cartridge Problem." One or more cartridges could be missing or damaged," and "Ink Cartridge Problem." The missing or undiscovered print cartridges may be reported.


If you receive this message about an HP ink cartridge problem, turn off your printer and examine the interior side of the carriage to ensure there is no visible damage to the contact pins.


Repair any bent contact pins with the tool until they are connected to the cartridge chip. Use a damp, lint-free cloth to clean the contacts, and then get back to work.


If your printer reports errors across the entire set, go to the HP official website and select Support > Software and Drivers> Printers. Then select your printer model. The download page will open, and click "Firmware" to download the most recent version. After the installation is complete, the printer should recognize the cartridges.
